This place is run by the same owner as Kwan's that used to be at Yonge and St Clair. I am so glad I found this place. Their fresh BBQ pork bun is soooo heavenly good. I pre-order nowadays because it is always sold out. It is a good option to bring to a holiday pot luck. They also have various seasonal party packages. I bought various frozen dim sum here in the past few months. My fav is the shrimp and pork siu mai and silver needle noodles. Great quality and great value!!
We love coming to Kwan to stock up on our dim sum fix. Our go-to is their shrimp and pork siu mai (4.99 for 9 pieces) - great mix of pork and shrimp in the filling, other frozen dim sum places have the pork filling with a shrimp on top, which isn't what I look for in a siu mai. Their molten salted egg yolk buns have an excellent runny consistency when heated up. They have a variety of dim sum dishes that you can choose from. The ladies there are super nice and welcoming. Note that to use their debit/visa machine it's for purchases over 20, bring cash if you plan on buying less items
Great Selection of Frozen Dim Sum & Dine-In Option! This is a fantastic spot for high-quality frozen dim sum! The store is spacious, clean, and well-organized, making it easy to browse their large selection. They offer a great variety, from classic dumplings and buns to more unique options, all at reasonable prices. One of the best parts is that you can also order and eat inside, which is a nice touch if you want to try something fresh before buying in bulk. The food is tasty, and the overall experience is convenient and enjoyable. Definitely a go-to place for dim sum lovers!
Sorry, move over ‘Fu-Kee, Frozen Dim Sum & Bao’! There’s a new kid on the block.....offering better quality, way better value, similar and more varied selection products!! Until ‘ KWAN, Chinese Dim Sum ‘ came along and decided to open up shops at both Yonge & St. Clair and York Mills locations, the midtown area bordered by these major arteries, was a ‘ black-hole’ void for quality Cantonese cuisine and Dim Sums. A while back, due to the impact of post-Covid, Kwan’s owner decided to close its St. Caire location and instead, relocate, rebrand and wrap it in a new business model. Opening up as a specialty ‘food‘ store in Markham, it focused on fine, restaurant quality ‘ Frozen Dim Sum, Prepared Cooked Food and Bakery/Desserts ‘. For some of us lazy and discriminating consumers, forever looking out for good quality and value for money ‘ convenient to prepare cooked food ‘ products, KWAN SPECIALTY is a great and welcoming addition. Offering supposedly restaurant quality products and at a fraction of the price. On our recent visit, my wife and I followed our relatives' thumbs-up recommendation and footsteps by loading up on a bunch of products.....with the assistance of an ultra-friendly and helpful customer service lady - Bonny. We bought the following: - Hong Kong style Russian Borscht - Braised Oxtail in savory tomato sauce - Braised Ducks Webs and Chinese Shiitake mushrooms in Abalone sauce - Cantonese Braised Duck with Preserved Plums - Steamed Minced Pork Patty with Chopped Sun-Dried Cuttlefish - Curry Beef Briskets with Potato - Steamed Pork Spare Ribs with Preserved Chinese Plums - Turnip Cake with Chinese Wind-Dried Preserved Meat Topping - Jar of XO sauce ( for an amazing 12.99....and tasted pretty darn good! ) - Mango/Pomelo Sago Dessert - Wolfberry, Osmanthus and Longood Jelly Savory products tried so far were the Curry Brisket, Braised Oxtail and Braised Duck. All flavorful, well prepared and excellent value. The meat is nice and tender. The Mango & Pomelo dessert was gorgeously delicious, not too sweet and refreshing. We have just touched the tip of the product iceberg. Next time, our focus will be on their Dim Sum selection, which on the surface and based on their display was very impressive!
Love this cute store selling snacks and food along with various frozen dumplings and pre-packed menus from Kwan restaurant!
This is a very interesting frozen dim sum place with dessert and tea. It's a very elegant store. Huge selection of frozen dim sum. The seating is for drinks and dessert. To the owner, I wish one day they will expand to serve their frozen dim sum for sit-down customers.
Cute Asian grocery store that sells frozen dim sum. The staff here were all very friendly and pleasant. The nice lady at the cash also gave us a 5 coupon for our next visit for spending 50. My elderly father loves their frozen dim sum so will definitely be back!
Cash for Under 50 Debit for 50-100 Credit Card for 100 I just got the har gow and pork/veg bean curd roll. Wanted to compare to other local frozen dim sum places. I noticed the portions were a tad smaller in size. But flavour was as expected. I feel most Har Gow have a consistent taste. As long as its not worse. Good dough, good flavour to the shrimp. They have more frozen dishes compared to fu kee Bao. Ill have to try more dishes later.
